The Arpa Viggianese school in concert in Bologna

The Scuola dell'Arpa Viggianese, the only reality dedicated to the historical folk harp in Italy, will attend the "Bologna Harp Festival” the coming 3 February, at 5:30 pm, at Palazzo Grassi (Circolo degli Ufficiali) with the concert "Fremer l’arpa ho sentito per via”.  The Ensemble, directed by Sara Sìmari, will perform a program that comes from a deep research work that gave birth to the homonymous CD "Fremer l’arpa ho sentito per via. Canti e danze dal viggianese" (Tactus 2016 – TC800006) a recording project that for the first time tries to reconstruct organically the varied repertoire of the wandering harpists – called "viggianesi" from Viggiano in the heart of the Basilicata region – plotting a period of time going from 1700 to 1900. It represents a testimony of a truly unique cultural syncretism, attested by historical-literary documents, sources of archives and research that finally gave sŏnus to this work.
