RESPIGHI OTTORINO
This recording is the fruit of a project conceived by a few professors at the Conservatory “G.B.
Martini” of Bologna, the ex-Liceo Musicale where Ottorino Respighi (Bologna 1879 – Rome 1936) had his musical training.
It was their intent to contribute to the ever increasing knowledge of the music of one of the greatest exponents of the Italian nineteenth century, the glory of Bolognese music who, in the words of Gabriele D’Annunzio, stood as a “pure and firm voice above this confused world of stutterers”.
