Giuseppe Verdi (1813-1901)
Ouvertures for Organ four hands
This project stems from the shared passion of Silvio Celeghin and Federica Iannella for operatic music. From transcriptions of overtures for piano four hands (Ed. Ricordi) and from the analysis of original scores, the two performers have tried - retracing the historic performance practices - to imitate the orchestral language peculiarities through the colours and the expressive features of the organ of Padre Davide da Bergamo, universally recognized as a symbol of “theatricality” organ. This instrument is the ideal equivalent of Verdi’s orchestration sound model, deeply different from European orchestration.
