GIROLAMO FRESCOBALDI (1583-1643)
Opera omnia a stampa per tastiera
Now getting closer to its 25th anniversary, FIRST IN THE WORLD, Tactus is proud to present to the passionate public of early music lovers its most ambitious project ever: the Girolamo Frescobaldi complete published works for keyboard in a 12 CDs box set at an extremely interesting price. We can say that this great project started with the label from Bologna when the founder, the late Serafino Rossi, in 1986 commissioned the first recordings to Maestro Sergio Vartolo, one of the most acclaimed specialists of the renaissance repertoire. In 1989 and 1990 Tactus published the two books of the Toccate e partite d’intavolatura di cimbalo et organo in two 3 CD sets (TC.580680 and TC.580681) and both of them received an enthusiastic welcome by the specialized press. For these CDs Vartolo and Tactus dedicated a great effort for the reaching of the highest possible level both for performance and sound quality. Riding the enthusiasm for this success, one year later Tactus published the double CD set including the Il Primo libro di capricci, canzon franzese e recercari fatti sopra diversi soggetti, et arie in partitura, still played by Vartolo this time on an harpsichord. In 1999 he passed the baton to Roberto Loreggian with the Canzoni alla francese in partitura Libro IV (a work published 2 years after the passing away of the great composer from Ferrara) and the Il primo libro di capricci, canzon francese e ricercari, and to Francesco Tasini, interpreter of the last two volumes of this complete opera on historical instruments that will certainly remain a milestone in the world discography. The box is finally completed with a very rich essay where Maestro Tasini examines the style and keyboard production of the greatest contemporary of Claudio Monteverdi.
