Divertimento Italiano
Music for Harmonium and Piano in Nineteenth-Century Drawing-Rooms

Unmissable CD for the lovers of ‘chamber music’, “Divertimento Italiano” represents a lively and different dimension of the great nineteenth-century theatrical music, cultural and musical substratum of the Italian nineteenth-century: the private completion of what happened in the great theaters. The instrumental organic represented by a vintage piano and an harmonium delivers a variety of rare expressive possibilities also bringing to light those ‘minor’ composers whose notes are very well representing the most intimate alter ego of the great 19th century melodramatic production. The performance by two fine specialists of the instruments: Andrea Toschi at the harmonium and Carlo Mazzoli at the historical piano.
