Leone Sinigaglia (1868-1944), Giovanni Bolzoni (1841-1919), Giuseppe Gariboldi (1833-1905), Gaetano Donizetti (1797-1848), Giovanni Sgambati (1841-1914), Amilcare Zanella (1873-1949), Alessandro Longo (1864-1945), Nino Rota (1911-1979)

The oboe and the piano take us through a chamber music journey from the second half of the nineteenth century to the present time.
From Gaetano Donizetti to Nino Rota, this album gives us a vision of the restoration of the instrumental music that, from the mid-nineteenth century (Movimento Ceciliano, Bossi, Sgambati, Martucci, Sinigaglia, Zanella, etc…) continues through to the Generazione dell’Ottanta (Respighi, Malipiero, Casella, Pizzetti, Alfano, etc…), arriving to our days, claiming the independence of the instrumental chamber and symphonic music against the rampant theatrical styles of the late eighteenth century.
The refined interpretations by Luciano Franca and Filippo Pantieri are taking to us exquisite compositions (including some of which Premier recordings) alternating moments of virtuosity to others of great musical expressiveness.
